Crater & Endless Plains
This memorable Northern Tanzanian safari offers a night in the undiscovered wilderness of Tarangire National Park; a night in the ‘eighth wonder of the world, the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater; then follows a sensational three-night stay in the world-famous Serengeti National Park; with a fascinating visit to Olduvai Gorge the legendary “Cradle of Mankind.”. Leaving the Serengeti, the tour proceeds to the highlands of Ngorongoro before entering the beautiful shores of Lake Manyara.
DAY 1:
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. After clearing customs and immigration formalities, you will be met by our representative and transferred to Arusha Coffee Lodge for overnight.
DAY 2 :
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon of game viewing. Lesser kudu, eland, lions can be found in this beautiful park, noted for its multitude of baobab trees and it’s elephants. Meals and overnight will be at the Tarangire Safari Lodge.
DAY 3:
After an early breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, taking a packed lunch with you. Upon arrival in the afternoon descend the crater for a game drive on the floor of the crater. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephants, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food. Dinner and overnight at the Ngorongoro Serena.
DAY 4:
After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge, the site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. After lunch indulge in an afternoon game drive on the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge.
DAY 5 & 6:
Two full days of game viewing on the endless plains of the Serengeti. The park contains the largest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa, on a scale which has no parallel anywhere in the world. The abundance of herbivores includes wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, topi, buffalo, hartebeest, to name but a few. Serengeti is also famous for lion and contains a wide variety of birdlife. Meals and overnight at the Serengeti Serena Lodge.
DAY 7:
Enjoy an early morning game drive, before returning to the lodge for late breakfast. Then depart to Ngorongoro highlands for a leisurely lunch at Gibbs Farm before your drive to Manyara Serena Lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY 8 :
After breakfast, you will have a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park whose inhabitants include hippos, monkeys, tree climbing lions, flamingos and other varieties of birdlife. After lunch at the Lodge, drive back to Kilimanjaro for departure flight in the evening.
