Ngorongoro-Crater
Description
This World Heritage site has often been described as one of the wonders of the world. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and provides an extraordinary natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest population of large mammals. The 260 km2 crater floor offers superb game viewing with zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, gazelles, black rhino and elephant easily seen. Predators, especially lion and cheetah are prevalent. The fresh water and soda lakes attract not only animals but a wide variety of birds including pelicans and flamingoes. Accommodation on the crater rim offers breathtaking views of this Garden of Eden.
