Wings Over Kenya Safari
This safari provides the perfect opportunity for a combination of three scenic game viewing sanctuaries starting with Amboseli commonly referred to as the “Kilimanjaro Royal Court” ; then Laikipia Conservancy staying at Borana Lodge, which allows for an opportunity to experience the wildlife as well as observing the goings on of a working ranch before flying to the Masai Mara to view the ‘Big Five’.
DAY 1:
On arrival transfer to Fairmont the Norfolk Hotel. You may choose from a selection of optional excursions or just relax in your delightful hotel room. Dinner and overnight at Fairmont the Norfolk hotel.
DAY 2:
Early morning breakfast at the hotel and then transfer to Wilson airport for a flight to Amboseli National Park, set at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to Tortilis Camp in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive in the expansive Amboseli National Park. Meals and overnight will be at Tortilis Camp.
DAY 3:
Full day of game drives in the Amboseli National Park which is one of Kenya’s oldest and most visited safari parks. Comparatively compact and dotted with emerald green swamps in which great herds of elephants can often be seen half-submerged aKenya flying safarimongst the papyrus grasses. It’s panoramic vistas and the stunning backdrop of snow capped Kilimanjaro, have made it a venue revered by Hollywood professionals and amateur safari photographers alike. Along with elephants, other plains game such as zebra, wildebeest and buffalo are in abundance. Meals and overnight at Tortilis Camp.
DAY 4:
Early morning breakfast and transfer to the airstrip for flight to Lewa, where upon on arrival, you will be driven to the Borana lodge for lunch. The lodge is a rustic yet luxurious family-run property set on a vast, wildlife rich, working cattle ranch on the edge of Laikipia Plateau with panoramic views of Mount Kenya. Due to its location and altitude this lodge is close to a wide diversity of wildlife including lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, cheetahs, antelope and bird species. After lunch, enjoy a late afternoon game drive followed by dinner and overnight at Borana Lodge.
DAYS 5 & 6:
Early morning and late afternoon game drives. In addition to game drives there are several activities on offer ranging from mountain biking, horse riding and nature walks.. With the snow-tipped peaks and glaciers of Mount Kenya to the south and a panorama of mountains and desert to the north, Borana provides an idyllic setting for any African experience. DAY 7 :
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for a scheduled flight to Masai Mara. On arrival you will be met and taken to Il Moran Camp – hidden under ancient trees, deep in the forest, with it’s 10 tents lining the winding banks of the Mara River. The camp is situated right in the heart of the Masai Mara Game Reserve, with the best game viewing right on your doorstep. Meals and overnight at Il Moran Camp.
DAYS 8 & 9:
Two full days spent in the Mara with morning and afternoon game viewing activities. Game viewing in the Masai Mara is unequalled anywhere in the world as during the seasonal migrations, the Mara is home to up to half a million wildebeest and an equally impressive number of zebra . These large numbers of animals give rise to a proportionate number of predators, especially the big cats and the spectacle of nature unfolding is always awesome! Meals and overnight at Il Moran Camp.
DAY 10:
Game drives in the morning and after lunch transfer to the airstrip for the afternoon flight to Nairobi. On arrival, transfer to JKIA to connect to your home bound flight or to a Nairobi hotel for overnight stay.
